there were no digital effects used in that shot. they actually had David Bowie hanging upsidedown on this rig system with his boot glued to the brick. then they just flipped him around and were like, ok David, don’t die.

This is actually mine! Well, I didn’t make it. I commissioned it from a local bookmaker here! I even went to go pick it up from him personally.
I was hoping to keep it a secret, but this beauty will be accompanying me when I cosplay Milo. My costume is nearly complete, and will probably be ready by Halloween.
This is not a prop. It is truly a real, functioning book. I had the spine rod machined by a husband and wife team who live in California, and the book was created by a local bookmaker under my specifications and his references from the film.
I plan to fill every page, and there’s about 350 of them, with illustrations and Atlantean script just like the “authentic” Journal. In reality, there were only 8 full, dummy pages created for the film. So I will be pulling inspiration from the multitudes of concept art both from the creation process of the Shepherd’s Journal as well as concept art of the city to create a completely filled Journal.
